Our open-source work

StratoLMS

Course sites built for creators.

StratoLMS is our Astro-first course-site toolkit. It brings structured learning content, course publishing and access controls into a website that creators can customise and maintain as their own source.

Practical tools for publishing learning.

Content-first authoring

Organise courses and lessons in Markdown and MDX, with structured modules and content validation before publishing.

A course website you own

Keep your content, layouts and components in your own project. Adapt the catalogue, course pages and lesson experience to your needs.

Course access and commerce

Configure supported payment adapters for one-time course purchases and protected lessons. Access delivery and recovery are tested for the selected provider.

Media and learning resources

Bring video, transcripts and supporting resources into the lesson experience. Selected media providers support optional signed playback.

Optional progress and reporting

Add database-backed learner progress and an owner dashboard when the project needs them, with configuration and validation for the chosen deployment.

Publishing tools

Use content checks and an optional local editor to maintain a structured course library. Changes remain part of a reviewable, repository-based workflow.

Why we build it.

Building a learning platform means working through the details of authoring, publishing, access and maintenance. StratoLMS makes that work concrete: an editable codebase with explicit content structures and implementation choices.

It also reflects how we approach client projects. Start with the learning experience, make ownership clear and choose technology that can be understood and maintained. A custom LMS or CMS engagement may use StratoLMS where it fits, or a different foundation where the requirements call for one.

Source availability and scope.

The StratoLMS runtime carries an MIT licence. The project repository is currently private, so public source downloads and community contributions are not yet available through this page. Contact us about source access and availability.

StratoLMS focuses on creator-led course publishing. SCORM, LTI, cohorts, gradebooks and subscription access are not built-in capabilities. Its optional editor runs locally; it is not a hosted collaborative CMS. Optional features and payment workflows require project-specific setup and testing.

Software licensing and Quadratic's professional services are separate. Implementation, custom development, hosting and ongoing support are agreed for each engagement.
